The White House is backing down from actions toward permanently banning CNN reporter Jim Acosta from the grounds but has set new rules concerning decorum for reporters at presidential press conferences, White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders announced Monday.

“This afternoon we have notified Jim Acosta and CNN that his hard pass has been restored. We have also notified him of certain rules that will govern White House press conferences going forward,” Sanders said.

  1. The fact that stating these rules is even necessary says it all about where our society is today. The “rules” are no more than common courtesy, like most of us learned as children. Sadly, that’s no longer the case.
