WASHINGTON — The senior Democrat on the Senate Judiciary Committee referred information involving Judge Brett M. Kavanaugh, President Trump’s nominee to the Supreme Court, to federal investigators on Thursday, but the senator declined to make public what the matter involved.

Two officials familiar with the matter say the incident involved possible sexual misconduct between Judge Kavanaugh and a woman when they were both in high school.

The article goes on to state the following:

The White House responded almost immediately.

“Throughout his confirmation process, Judge Kavanaugh has had 65 meetings with senators — including with Senator Feinstein — sat through over 30 hours of testimony, addressed over 2,000 questions in a public setting and additional questions in a confidential session. Not until the eve of his confirmation has Senator Feinstein or anyone raised the specter of new ‘information’ about him,” said White House spokeswoman Kerri Kupec. She added, “Senator Schumer promised to ‘oppose Judge Kavanaugh’s nomination with everything I have,’ and it appears he is delivering with this 11th hour attempt to delay his confirmation.”

Aides to Senator Chuck Schumer of New York, the Democratic leader, said he has not seen the Eshoo letter, but he believes the committee is handling the matter appropriately.

But Senator John Cornyn of Texas, the No. 2 Republican in the Senate and a member of the committee, was incredulous.

According to the report, the House committee’s chairman, Senator Charles E. Grassley (R-Iowa), hasn’t seen the letter Feinstein reffered to the FBI. Grassley did say it wouldn’t change his timeline for confirming Kavanaugh.

From the NYT:

“Senator Grassley is aware of Senator Feinstein’s referral,” said George Hartmann, a spokesman for Mr. Grassley. “At this time, he has not seen the letter in question, and is respecting the request for confidentiality. There’s no plan to change the committee’s consideration of Judge Kavanaugh’s nomination.”

  1. Do you see how it goes? Let socialists and possibly a few as yet closeted Marxists into the Democratic Party, and its ethics, morality and any semblance of rational thought go to Hell in a handbasket. Forrest Gump’s mama had it right: “Stupid is as stupid does.”

  2. Hey, I think it’s OK. It sets a precedence. Now let’s use that precedence to go back to all the Clinton, Obama, Pelosi, Waters, Wasserman-Shultz, etc. shenanigans. Kavanaugh won’t be confirmed but the entire Democrat Party will be in prison.

  3. Supposedly Feinstein received the letter over the summer…was she in possession of it at the time of her private meeting with Kavanaugh? If this is actually true, which I doubt, both Kavanaugh and the “girl” would have been minors so now the Democrats are leaking privileged information about 2 minors; information that was sealed because of their age. Sounds very Judge Roy Moore to me.

  4. Fienstien needs to retire Now. This last minute political grand standing based on something that happened 20+ years ago and in this case in High School needs to stop. If even true, He and the alleged girl were probably both underage and does some dump high school incident between minors real bring one once of evedeince in changing who he is today or the last 10-20 years? It sure seems the democratics are so desperate they will try anything to get the liberal media to create a negitive spin they so desire on this alleged issue; and remember it is from his High School years. WHO CARES!! What law did Feinstein break by releasing private information on alleged minors. If they are minors and she did without their mutual consent what is she liable for. Sad thing is, if my statement is true MOTHING will happen to Fienstien. Not even a slap on the wrist as she is a stupidly elected Senetor and nothing rarely happened to elected politicians as they are above all of the citizens of the USA.

  5. This is ridiculous!!!! In High School we all did something that was trivial, to bring up something from high school, even minors at that is desperate!!! The left have lost their minds and they are an embarrassment to our Country. This is evidence of how crazy 😜 these idiots are. Diane Feinstein needs to go into assisted Living because her brain is fried!! 😜😜😜😜😜😜

    • Win at any price! This is the typical Democrat playbook in action, a scorched Earth policy. Destroy the opposition.
Didn’t Feinstein have a Chinese spy working for her, why is she still a member of the Judiciary committee
