On Monday, the White House’ twitter account slammed Sen. Elizabeth Warren (Mass) over comments she made about U.S. Immigration and Custome Enforcemet (ICE).
In comments, Warren has described the Trump administration’s zero tolerance immigration policy “deeply immoral.”
“The president’s deeply immoral actions have made it obvious we need to rebuild our immigration system from top to bottom starting by replacing ICE with something that reflects our morality and that works,” Warren said at a rally in Boston.
The White House Twitter account posted a link to the ICE website’s page on the Border Enforcement Security Task Force (BEST), and suggested she click it to learn “what ICE really does.”
The tweet read: .@SenWarren, why are you supporting criminals moving weapons, drugs, and victims across our nation’s borders? You must not know what ICE really does. Here is a link to help you out.
According to the ICE website:
The primary mission of the Homeland Security Investigations’ (HSI) Border Enforcement Security Task Force (BEST) is to combat emerging and existing Transnational Criminal Organizations (TCO) by employing the full range of federal, state, local, tribal and international law enforcement authorities and resources in the fight to identify, investigate, disrupt and dismantle these organizations at every level of operation.
