Retired FBI special agent hits Comey again in grand-slam condemnation

Saturday we published a review by two retired FBI agents of former FBI Director James Comey’s recent testimony before the Senate Intelligence Committee. The two retired agents, Cesar Paz and Jeff Danik, gave a hard-hitting, eye-opening analysis of why they feel Comey has made critical errors and now faces huge legal problems.

But Paz, a retired special agent and 22-year veteran of the FBI, was just getting started in his criticism of Comey. Saturday afternoon he blasted out another video in a direct message to Comey, and submitted it to for distribution, telling us, “I feel I have the responsibility to present the facts from an FBI agent’s perspective. I feel the need to tell people the other side of the story.”

Paz condemned Comey for saying that President Trump had defamed him and defamed the FBI, adding that Comey has no idea how low the morale is among the FBI agents, and how relieved they are that he is no longer their director. He alleged that it is Comey himself who has tarnished the FBI.

“One of the things we were taught the first day at the academy is that we as agents could not, should not, must not, embarrass the FBI – whether in our private life, public life, or professional life – we have to conduct ourselves as if the whole world was watching us, because the credentials and the badge that we carry are a commitment to the people of the United States. I believe Director Comey has tarnished the reputation of the FBI.”

He explained how, in his years of undercover work, he learned how to read the body language of the criminals he was meeting with and trying to bring to justice. Speaking directly to Comey, Paz said when he heard him say in his testimony Thursday that his mother had taught him not to lie, “Sir, I felt embarrassed for you!”

“It’s the things that you have done that have brought you down, and you say you don’t know why you were fired?” Paz asked Comey, continuing, “Haven’t you looked at the letter written by the Deputy Attorney General?”

Paz slammed Comey for stating to Sen. Dianne Feinstein, “Maybe if I was stronger….”

“Do you have any idea what you looked like in front of the world?!” Paz demanded.  “Do you have any idea what you looked like to directors or chiefs of other foreign intelligence or criminal agencies… or how you looked to our enemies… a weak man!”

He whipped out his FBI badge, stating (to Comey), “This badge used to open doors! This badge would part the dead sea!  Not because of the agents, but because of the high level of trust that this nation had for the FBI, and you have been a contributor to turn that whole thing around.”

Paz told Comey in his powerful message, “You are a good man and have been a stellar prosecutor, but you have made some very horrible, irreversible mistakes, and not only the employees of the FBI are paying for it, but the nation…. the people of the United States… the people who you swore to serve.”
