Early this week, the Wall Street Journal shined a light on Hillary Clinton’s ties to the Common Good VA (‘CGV’) – a Virginia state PAC run by Clinton’s best friend and VA governor, Terry McAuliffe. The WSJ reported that the CGA donated $467,000 to the state senate campaign of Jill McCabe. She is the wife of the FBI agent who oversaw Hillary Clinton’s private email server investigation. New developments are coming to the surface which takes the story one step further.
According to the DailyMail, Hillary Clinton led a CGV fundraiser in June 2015, right before the group donated the money t0 McCabe. CGV was the largest single donor to the campaign of Dr. Jill McCabe.
In the last two years, five employees from the PAC went on to work on the Clinton campaign. McAuliffe is also a significant member of Clinton’s campaign, and held a position on the Clinton Foundation board. It’s all connected. Virginia-based National Legal and Policy Center watchdog chairman Ken Boehm released the following statement about the matter:
“The fact that Hillary Clinton’s inner circle was raising substantial funds for Gov. McAuliffe’s PAC and this same PAC gave close to a half-million dollars to the campaign of the wife of the senior FBI official involved in the Clinton investigation sure looks like a payoff – a major payoff. What was already a serious corruption story now looks much worse.”
Ironically, the fundraiser for CGV was technically the first of the campaign race after Clinton announced her bid for the presidency. Interestingly, none of the money raised went to her campaign. Rather, it was funneled into the McCabe family for their campaign, but the suspicion is the money was meant to pay off Director McCabe to fabricate the findings of the email investigation and to let Clinton off the hook.
Andrew McCabe is denying any conflict of interest in the Clinton investigation. According to McCabe, he sought “advice” from FBI ethics officials on issues related to his wife’s political campaign. Several months after Dr. Jill McCabe lost her state senate race to the Republican incumbent, her husband was promoted from assistant deputy director to deputy director, officially tasked with overseeing the Clinton email investigation. And then later on, Director James Comey cleared Clinton of all potential criminal charges. Go figure.
