A rising star has died after collapsing in the middle of a concert in the small village of Goudron, in the Lot region of southwest France. French singer, Barbra Weldens, 35, was on stage at a church when she reportedly suffered a cardiac arrest.
The cause of the singer’s death is unclear and is currently under investigation. Many believe she may have been electrocuted.
A spokesperson told L’Europe1 that they “will see in the next weeks if a re-evaluation” is needed and that they would determine whether or not it was an electrical malfunction.
Weldens was performing as part of the Léo Ferré Festival. In 2016, she won first prize in the Jacques Brel Young Talent competition.
