Calling Donald Trump a fraud and a phony, Romney says supporters are being taken for ‘suckers’.
It wasn’t always like this. Let’s look back four years. Donald Trump explored his options of running for President in 2011, then stepped back and very graciously gave his endorsement to the GOP front runner, Mitt Romney, believing Romney had the ability to win and do good things for America.
Here are Romney’s comments in accepting Mr. Trump’s endorsement:
“Having his endorsement is a delight, I am honored and pleased to have his endorsement. Donald Trump has shown an extraordinary ability to understand how our economy works, and to create jobs for the American people. He’s done it here in Nevada, he’s done it across the country. He understands that our economy is facing threats from abroad. He’s one of the few people who stood up and said, ‘China has been cheating. They’ve taken jobs from Americans, and they haven’t played fair.’”
Here is the entire video from February 2012, of Mr. Trump’s gracious endorsement, and Mitt Romney’s glowing acceptance.
