Rosie maxes out donations to Dem senate candidate

Liberal Trump-hater Rosie O’Donnell is unsurprisingly supporting the Democratic candidate in the Alabama Senate race, which will be decided on Tuesday. In fact, she’s maxed out donations to get Democrat Doug Jones elected.

Jones has raised as much as $12 million in donations.

O’Donnell’s Twitter page, which is always filled with liberal-leaning messages, published several recent tweets in support of Jones, including one re-tweet in which Jones is “delivering his closing argument to the voters of Alabama with a powerful speech called ‘Season of Opportunity.'”

She also retweeted information about a Twitter campaign started by actress Alyssa Milano, a fellow liberal celebrity who is urging followers to participate in a “Tweetstorm” for Jones.

Milano wrote: “ROLL CALL! Tonight’s Sunday Tweetstorm topic will be DOUG JONES and getting out the vote (GOTV) for Tuesday’s election. 6pm PST/9pm eastern. OFFICIAL HASHTAGS: #RightSideOfHistory #VoteDec12.
Please join me tonight in raising awareness for [Doug Jones].”

O’Donnell has thrown her celebrity weight behind other liberal Democrats in the past, including Democrat Jon Ossoff who made headlines in his race against Karen Handel for Georgia’s U.S. House of Representatives seat this year, a seat that would not traditionally be competitive for Democrats, but which turned out to be a closer race than usual.

Despite raising $30 million in donations, Ossoff lost the race, even after O’Donnell endorsed him and donated the maximum to his election campaign, as well.
