Rosie O’Donnell donates to charity for NSA leaker

Continuing her habit of jumping aboard anything that could be considered “anti-Trump,” Rosie O’Donnell has promoted a “relief fund” for Reality Leigh Winner, the former federal contractor accused of leaking classified documents.

On the GoFundMe page, its creator, Shirley J. Fink of Virginia writes in all caps:

LET’S STAND UP WITH REALITY LEIGH WINNER AND HER FAMILY!

Calling it a difficult time for them, Fink pleads for “love and support” in the form of “kind messages” and cold hard cash, but only if “you feel led to do so.”

Throughout the fund’s description, Fink seems to think Winner’s predicament is a battle between peace, hope, love and good over the “evil” inflicted on her through a “traumatic experience.”

These funds will be able to assist with loss of wages,  counseling from this traumatic experience and to be able to recover from this as Reality & her family rebuilds their lives. Possible expenses for travel for the family and anything they might need to help them through these troubled times.

However, if allegations prove true, Winner is responsible for illegally leaking classified national defense information, including details about alleged Russian hacking into the U.S. election system, to the media.

That didn’t stop O’Donnell from promoting the fund, or contributing with a $1,000 personal donation.

She Tweeted a link to the funding page, along with a message: “brave young patriot.”

In the first two days, the GoFundMe campaign has already raised over $20,000.
