Rosie O’Donnell Pledges Massive Donation to Fight Trump

Rosie O’Donnell is joining a long list of celebrities who are donating money to the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) to counter President Trump’s executive orders.

On Saturday, pop singer and music artist Sia tweeted out a link to the ACLU’s donation page. In her tweet, Sia claims she will match up to $100K in donated monies if her followers present to her receipts of their own donations.

“Help our queer & immigrant friends. Send me your donation receipts for the ACLU & I will match up to $100K,” Sia tweeted to her nearly three million followers. Sia’s tweet has circulated in retweets over 27,000 times.

Soon enough, controversial media figure Rosie O’Donnell responded to Sia’s tweet, claiming: “And I will match your 100K donation Sia – .”

Since Trump’s rise to the presidency, O’Donnell has become a highly vocal critic of the president on her Twitter page. Prior to the election, she was no better. The embattled comedian tweeted out a naked photo of Melania Trump in what was deemed an attempt to “slut shame” Trump’s wife.  After a huge backlash, O’Donnell removed the post.

Weeks later, she pointed her tweets towards Barron Trump, suggesting the 10-year-old is autistic. This caused another backlash, but this time the comedian dealt with the controversy by setting her account to private for a short period of time.

Below is the tweet where O’Donnell claims she will match a $100K donation, as well as a few other tweets that have been targeted towards Trump.
