With ObamaCare in a “death spiral,” Speaker Paul Ryan on Sunday said that the GOP’s healthcare bill is “a rescue mission to make sure that we can achieve the goals we all want.”
Claiming that the bill will lower the cost of coverage and make it more accessible to all Americans, especially those with pre-existing conditions, Ryan told reporters that Republicans are getting out in front of the collapse of Obamacare to establish “a system that works.”
Citing choice, competition and affordable premiums, Ryan said that the law was constructed with “multiple layers of protections for people with pre-existing conditions.”
Trump and GOP leaders celebrated the bill’s being passed by the House on Thursday at the White House Rose Garden.
However, the Congressional Budget Office did not score the bill before it was passed in the House, and GOP senators are saying the bill will need amendments is order for it to pass in the Senate.
