For Sale: Marijuana Leggings For Kids

Toddler leggings for sale on Amazon, advertised as having “leaves” on them, are creating a huge outrage.

The leggings are actually decorated with images of marijuana leaves, and are being offered for sale by Aoishlong-Baby on Amazon.

Upon discovering the pants, a grandparent from Fort Myers, Florida immediately contacted Amazon to report the inappropriate item. She has yet to receive a response from the company.

The company that is offering the leggings is an Asian based apparel company. The pants are advertised for 2-8 year olds and can be purchased for $5.99-$7.00.

The pants are sparking outrage in the anti-drug activist community. Diane Ramseyer, the executive director of Drug-Free Charlotte said, “Why would you have that? You’re advertising that you’re showing acceptability to them.”

Ramseyer went on to reference the quick acting grandma who alerted Amazon about the item, “Think, oh, what a great thing to give a grandchild something that has something to do with being of the earth, and the plants not realizing what it is.”

Scott Chipman, an activist for Citizens Against Legalizing Marijuana expressed that the leggings are concerning. He told the Huffington Post, “Anything that normalizes marijuana with kids is child abuse.”
