Sally Field doesn’t understand how anyone could vote for Donald J. Trump so she joined Twitter on November 9th to hash it out.
“I want to pull my head out of the sand. I thought we were standing up against evil, fighting for democracy by campaigning for Hillary Clinton, by casting our votes.”
The self-described “old, liberal white woman” told Chelsea Handler in a recent appearance on her Netflix show, “I want to know why they voted for this man who does not stand for anything. There is no real evidence, if you look at his past, if you look at his history, that he can do one single thing that he says he’s going to do, not one single thing. This is why I’m on Twitter.”

In response to Fields’ dismissal of Trump’s electoral victory, one commenter tries to point out the fact that America is a representative republic, not a democracy vulnerable to mob rule.

Another uses fresh thinking in her explanation of just why Hillary Clinton lost.

The actress has been calling for an “uprising” in her tweets, following the election.
Everything we feared. Here it is. How can we give Trump the benefit of a doubt? Look whats happening. I’m not doubting. Organize, rise https://t.co/OUN2Xaf5v5
