Middle school teacher Karla Alvarez, 28, was arrested by local authorities in Hall County, Georgia for housing illegal firearms and $6 million in cocaine and heroin on Thursday.

Alvarez and two other individuals, housemate Monica Pascual Brito and her brother, are now facing drug trafficking and gun charges. The Chestatee Middle School Academy teacher in Gainesville coached the girls’ soccer team and taught students how to speak Spanish.

Hall County Sheriff’s Lt. Scott Ware commented on the scale of the operation for investigators to Fox News:

“They got information that there was probably a substantial amount of heroin and cocaine at the house … I’ve worked drugs and gangs for a long time and it was one of the larger cocaine seizures I’ve ever seen.”

In total, 61 kilos of cocaine, a kilo of heroin, and unspecified amounts of guns and cash were recovered from Alvarez’s residence. While she and Monica Pascual Brito were detained by authorities, Ricardo Pascual Brito, 28, was reportedly still at large.
