According to the new Senate majority leader, Charles Schumer (D-NY), President-elect Donald Trump is being “really dumb” for questioning the findings of the U.S. intelligence community.
Schumer appeared on MSNBC’s ‘The Rachel Maddow Show’ this past Sunday and said, “Let me tell you, you take on the intelligence community, they have six ways from Sunday at getting back at you. So even for a practical, supposedly hard-nosed businessman, he’s being really dumb to do this.”
Trump had stated that the evening intelligence briefing on Russia’s cyber activities, originally scheduled for Tuesday “was delayed until Friday,” and hinted in a tweet that intelligence agencies weren’t prepared.
Trump tweeted, “The ‘Intelligence’ briefing on so-called ‘Russian hacking’ was delayed until Friday, perhaps more time needed to build a case. Very strange!”
U.S. intelligence officials have allegedly determined that Russia tried to interfere in the U.S. election to help Trump win the White House. President Obama ordered a full investigation and imposed sanctions against Russia last week.
