A second Orlando nightclub is suspected of being on Omar Mateen’s hit list, officials are revealing.
The owner of Club Revere, Michael Bass, says he received a Facebook friend request from Omar Mateen either late Thursday or early Friday morning. He rejected the request after seeing Arabic writing on his page and not knowing any of Mateen’s friends. After he saw reports about the attack on the Pulse nightclub, he recognized both Mateen’s photo and name as the same person who had sent him the friend request.
The Orlando police department and the FBI came to the club to interview Bass Tuesday afternoon as part of their investigation.
Club Revere is also a LGBT nightclub, but it was closed Saturday night. One of the regular dancers from Revere went to the Pulse club for the evening. The dancer, Xavier Emmanuel Serrano Rosado, 35, died in the attack.
