The Secret Service is in the news again for bad behavior since one of its own was suspended from Vice President Mike Pence’s detail after he was caught meeting a prostitute in a Maryland hotel, as reported Thursday.

According to law enforcement, the agent was caught after police saw him exiting the hotel late last week.

“Police responded to a call from the hotel manager who became suspicious of activity in one of the rooms. The source said this was not a sting,” according to CNN.

After he was arrested and charged with solicitation, the agent self-reported his arrest to the Secret Service. It’s been reported that the agent was off-duty and did not present himself in his official capacity at the time the incident occurred.

A spokesperson for the Secret Service acknowledged that there was “an alleged incident” and said an off-duty Secret Service employee was involved. The matter is under investigation by the Office of Professional Responsibility.

After surrendering his weapon and official gear, the agent was placed on administrative leave.

“We are exploring the full range of disciplinary actions,” said the Secret Service.
