Senator Susan Collins (R-Maine) didn’t realize her microphone was still hot when she laid into Rep. Blake Farenthold (R-Texas) Tuesday at the end of a Senate Appropriations Subcommittee hearing.

Collins, chair of the subcommittee, has been the most staunch of the few Republican senators preventing progress on the GOP’s healthcare bill, and has also said ‘no’ to a repeal-only plan. After Farenthold blamed Collins for the lack of headway made on health care, Collins reproached the congressman under her breath to colleague and subcommittee ranking member, Sen. Jack Reed (D-R.I.).

Collins asked Reed if he saw “the one who challenged me to a duel,” referencing Farenthold.

“Do you know why he challenged you to a duel?” Reed replied. “Because you could beat the sh*t out of him first.”

Collins was reportedly unaware her mic was still on and continued to bash Farenthold, calling him “so unattractive, it’s unbelievable.”

“Well, fat guy … he’s huge,” Collins said. “He’s so … he’s so unattractive, it’s unbelievable. Did you see the picture of him in his pajamas next to this bunny, this Playboy bunny?”

Upon discovery, the subcommittee quickly took the video down.

Farenthold had previously been critical of Collins during an interview with a radio station, saying the repeal and replacement of Obamacare was being held up by “some female senators from the Northeast.”

But when asked by the Washington Examiner if he had a response to Collins’ remarks, Farenthold took the high road.

“Like the president, I am sick and tired of the left-wing biased media trying to make something out of nothing,” Farenthold said. “This was clearly tongue-in-cheek. That being said, I’m extremely frustrated with Senate Republicans who are breaking their promise to the American people to repeal and replace Obamacare.”
