Sen. Franken: Republicans Secretly Worried About Trump’s Mental Health

On Sunday, Sen. Al Franken (D-Minn.) said that several Republican colleagues have expressed concern regarding President Trump’s mental health.

When asked by CNN’s “State of the Union” host, Jake Tapper, if Republicans were worried about the president’s mental state, Franken said, “A few, yeah.”

“We all have this suspicion that, you know, he lies a lot. He says things that aren’t true. That’s the same as lying, I guess,” Franken said.

“You know: 3 [million] to 5 million people voted illegally,” Franken said, referencing President Trump’s claim that due to widespread voter fraud he lost the popular vote.

“That is not the norm for a president of the United States or, actually, for a human being.”
