Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) announced the wedding of his daughter, “The View” co-host Meghan McCain, to fellow conservative commentator Ben Domenech in a tweet on Wednesday, saying he was “blessed” to  celebrate the occasion with family and friends in Arizona.

The proud father told the Twitter-verse, “Yesterday I was deeply blessed to give away my little girl at a ceremony with family & friends in #Arizona. Congratulations [Meghan McCain] & [Ben Domenech] – we are so happy for you!”

McCain, 33, married Domenech, 35, a conservative pundit, in a Tuesday ceremony at her family’s ranch in Arizona, according to People magazine. The wedding comes four months after John McCain was diagnosed with Stage 4 brain cancer. He tweeted earlier this month he was “thrilled” to welcome Domenech to the family after the couple announced their engagement, which occurred in the Mayo Clinic, while he was undergoing treatment, the bride revealed on “The View”.

The 81-year-old lawmaker said in September that while doctors delivered a “very poor prognosis,” he planned on doing “the best we can, and at the same time celebrate with gratitude a life well lived.”

Approximately 100 guests attended the ceremony, according to reports.

Domenech is a writer and pundit who publishes the conservative website, “The Federalist.”

“We got married in a fever, hotter than a pepper sprout,” the author and former Fox News contributor tweeted the day after the wedding.

McCain’s cohosts congratulated their colleague on Twitter, saying, “Congratulations to our @MeghanMcCain and her now husband @bdomenech! The couple wed today in Arizona — and we look forward to hearing all about it next week!”
