Democrat Senator Joe Manchin (W.Va.) pledged in a Fox News interview Monday night that if Democrats do win control of the Senate, he will vote AGAINST his own party if they attempt to pack the Supreme Court, eliminate the filibuster rule, defund the police, push the Green New Deal, or other radical policies they may try to enact under a Biden presidency.
Fox host Bret Baier warned Manchin that Chuck Schumer “is going to come hard” to get his vote, and try to bribe him with a chairmanship or other perks.
But Manchin insisted he would stop all the “crazy stuff” the progressives might try to push forward. “I’m a proud, moderate Democrat. Maybe there’s not many of us left, but this country wants moderation. You run your life, your business from the middle, not from the fringes,” he declared.
However, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Tex.) warned on Tuesday’s “Hugh Hewitt Show” that Manchin would NOT be able to keep his promise.
Cruz said if Sen. Chuck Schumer becomes the Senate Majority Leader, that Democrats “will end the filibuster. They will pass a massive tax hike. They will enact much of Green New Deal, destroy millions of small businesses, and they will pack the Court, they’ll add two new states. That will happen.”
Cruz added, “Every bit of that will happen. Joe Manchin, when he went on Fox yesterday, was campaigning for the Democrats in Georgia. That’s why he’s saying that. I serve with Joe. I like him. He’s a perfectly nice guy. None of the Democrats have the strength to stand up to Chuck Schumer…. And if they get a majority, they will use their power. It’s why Georgia matters so much, because it’s the difference between saving the republic or going off the cliff into the darkness.”
Sen. Cruz: “I’ve had multiple conversations over the past week with the President, with the WH, Jared. And one of the things that I have urged them is that they need to bring in significant additional legal firepower, that a battle like this takes some serious legal horses.” https://t.co/APsTwl9w3r

Since Republican senator Dan Sullivan of Alaska just won re-election Wednesday, Republicans are now only one seat away from gaining the majority in the Senate. Two Republican senators in Georgia – Sen. Kelly Loeffler and Sen. David Perdue – are facing their Democrat challengers in runoff elections on Jan. 5.
“We must win Georgia, to save America,” Cruz said in a Twitter post.
