In response to President Donald Trump’s tweets accusing the Democratic National Committee of rigging the Democratic primaries in favor of Hillary Clinton, Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) tweeted on Friday: “You might think your tweets are cute, @realDonaldTrump, but they won’t stop Mueller’s investigation or keep your people out of jail.”

On Thursday, CNN’s Jake Tapper asked Warren if she believed the Democratic primary was rigged to favor of Clinton, to which she simply replied, “Yes.”

President Trump seized on the opportunity, calling her “Pocahontas” — his nickname for Warren, who falsely claimed Native American heritage and reportedly used that status to take advantage of affirmative action perks — and pointing out that even she admitted the truth.

“Pocahontas just stated that the Democrats, lead by the legendary Crooked Hillary Clinton, rigged the Primaries! Lets go FBI & Justice Dept.,” tweeted Trump, as he let the missives fly this morning after his account was shut down for a short time Friday morning.

In a new book, interim DNC chairperson Donna Brazile said Clinton’s campaign took control of the Party’s finances and operations to guarantee that she secured the nomination, despite Bernie Sanders’ increasing popularity with voters.

“I understand your desperation to change the subject, @realDonaldTrump. Your campaign mgr was just indicted for conspiracy against the US,” Warren tweeted, trying to change the subject herself by referencing former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort, who, along with business associate Rick Gates, was indicted by a federal grand jury on 12 counts Monday. None of the charges have anything to do with President Trump or his campaign.

“The DNC shouldn’t play favorites,” Warren admitted in one of her tweets, adding, “But that’s a whole lot different from illegally conspiring with Russia. The FBI knows the difference.”

Special counsel Robert Mueller is investigating campaign collusion between Trump associates and Russia, but the president has long maintained the Justice Department should be investigating the DNC and Clinton instead. Mueller has yet to tie Trump to any kind of “Russian collusion,” but the evidence continues to mount against Clinton and the Obama administration.

In a press briefing on Friday morning, Trump said he was “disappointed” in the Department of Justice and questioned on Twitter why it and the FBI weren’t “looking into all of the dishonesty going on with Crooked Hillary & the Dems.”
