In an attempt to avoid questions from reporters, Sen. Jerry Moran (R-Kan.) jumped the subway tracks to maneuver around the press gathered at his arrival point.
After Moran helped kill the Senate’s bill to repeal and replace Obamacare by saying he wouldn’t vote for it, reporters were anxious to talk with him. But he quickly made his escape as shown in the photo below.
As Associated Press photojournalist Andrew Harnik describes in a twitter post with a corroborating photo: “JerryMoran jumps the tracks of the Senate subway on Capitol Hill to get around a large gathering of reporters as he arrives.”

French press correspondent Michael Mathes also tweeted about the incident, writing jokingly:
“Senator JerryMoran, in bid to escape journalist hordes, RUNS ACROSS SUBWAY TRAIN TRACKS and up stairs. #freejerrymoran”
