Sens. Sheldon Whitehouse (D-R.I.) and Tom Udall (D-N.M.) want access to the membership list of Trump’s private golf club, Mar-a-Lago.
The club, which is located in a wealthy area of Palm Beach, Florida, requires an individual to pay $200,000 for a single membership.
According to the Democrat senators, $200,000 “is financially out of reach for all but the wealthiest Americans and international elites.”
Therefore, they want the membership list to see “who is getting access to the president.”
Trump is currently spending the weekend at Mar-a-Lago, which includes both a private residence that he occupies as well as a resort and spa for members.
Whitehouse and Udall want Trump to release the names of members and visitors who are present while Trump is there.
The demands were made in a letter sent to the White House on Feb. 3.
