A man has been sentenced to 16 years in jail after stealing and killing more than a dozen cats in San Jose’s Cambrian Park.
San Jose-resident Robert Farmer, pleaded guilty to killing 18 cats and wounding three more. The disturbing crimes all took place in the fall of 2015, with one of the abductions being caught on camera.
Officials came across multiple blood stains inside of Farmer’s car, as well as a deceased cat. A necropsy showed at least one of the cats died of blunt force trauma and may have been sexually abused.
Farmer will not be able to own a pet for 10 years after his release from jail. On top of that, he will not be allowed back within 100 yards of the Cambrian Park neighborhood.
