Sessions interviewed by Mueller team in Russia investigation

The New York Times is reporting that Attorney General Jeff Sessions has been interviewed in special counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia investigation.

According to the Times, the interview with Sessions took place last week.

The interview comes as Mueller is investigating whether President Donald Trump’s actions in office, including the firing of FBI Director James Comey, constituted obstruction of justice. Mueller is also investigating contacts between Trump’s 2016 campaign and Russia.  To date, the investigation has led to a series of dead ends.

The news comes on the heels of Sessions vowing Monday to investigate why thousands of text messages between two FBI agents involved in the Russian investigation were “lost”.  The two agents were anti-Trump and having a romantic fling.
