Attorney General Jeff Sessions vehemently denied accusations that he interfered with the Russia probe or colluded with Russian officials prior to the 2016 election in his congressional testimony Tuesday.

“Let me state this clearly: I have never met with or had any conversations with any Russians or any foreign officials concerning any type of interference with any campaign or election,” Sessions told the Senate Intelligence Committee. “Further, I have no knowledge of any such conversations by anyone connected to the Trump campaign.”

Sessions credibility was called into question last week after former FBI Director James Comey stated in a closed session with senators that there was a “possible third interaction” between Sessions and Russian officials in 2016 aside from the two that led the Attorney General to recuse himself from the investigation.
