Shep Smith Calls Trump A Liar Over Voter Fraud Claims

President Trump announced Wednesday that he will be launching a “major investigation” to look into voter fraud.

Shep Smith jumped on air to claim, “The list of falsehoods from the President is growing.”

Trump posted a Twitter message saying, “I will be asking for a major investigation into VOTER FRAUD, including those registered to vote in two states, those who are illegal and even, those registered to vote who are dead (and many for a long time).  Depending on results, we will strengthen up voting procedures!”

After election day, Trump stated in a Twitter post, “In addition to winning the Electoral College in a landslide, I won the popular vote if you deduct the millions of people who voted illegally.”

Fox News’ Shepard Smith came out swinging Wednesday after Trump’s statements on voter fraud, saying, “It is the reporting of Fox News that widespread voter fraud did not happen.  There’s no evidence that any widespread voter fraud happened, there never has been.”

He quoted John Bussey from the Wall Street Journal, who accused Trump of planning to just find a few incidents of voter fraud, “get people whipped up”, and then put rules in place to “suppress the vote.”

Smith’s guest, A.B. Stoddard, agreed with Smith, saying Democrats are concerned about voter ID laws that could “restrict voting.”

Fox fans were disgusted with Smith, blasting him on Twitter for his anti-Trump reporting:
