Cuba Gooding Sr., the former lead singer of The Main Ingredient, was found dead in his car on Thursday in the Woodland Hills section of Los Angeles.
Officials say the cause of his death is still under investigation, but drugs and alcohol were found in his car.
Some of Gooding’s biggest hits with the group included “Everybody Plays a Fool,” and “Just Don’t Want to Be Lonely.”
Gooding Sr. was the father of Oscar-winner actor Cuba Gooding Jr., who has not made a public statement since his father’s passing.
Gooding was 72 years old but would have turned 73 next Thursday, on April 27.
