A gang of six armed men stormed into a family-owned electrical business Monday in Auckland, New Zealand, and were met with resistance from an unexpected source – the shop owner’s six-year-old daughter.
As one employee was forced behind a desk and about to be hacked in the back with an axe by one of the robbers, the brave little girl ran out and grabbed his leg, trying to stop him.
Surveillance video captured the child going after the man with the axe. She later told officials she first thought it was her dad being attacked, and she wanted to protect him.
The other men were armed with metal bars. They smashed a desk with the axe, and broken glass display cabinets.
The robbers got away with bags of mobile phones, driving a stolen vehicle, reported Newstalk ZB. A witness was able to get the tag number of the vehicle and alerted police. Soon after, police spotted the vehicle, and took off in pursuit, finally having to lay road spikes to stop the car. The suspects then took off running, but police finally captured 5 teenagers, while one is still on the loose.
