NEW YORK, NEW YORK — Sierra Shields was last seen at LaGuardia Airport in New York City on January 14.  The 30-year-old flight attendant was supposed to work a Delta flight that day, but she never got on the plane.    She has been missing ever since.  But then earlier this week her skull and bones washed up on Rikers Island in NYC.

Back in January, Shield’s quit her job without an explanation before she went missing, according to an official at the airline.

The medical examiner’s office will determine Shields’ cause of death.  But her family believes she may have committed suicide.   Her family had told investigators that Shields had reached out to a suicide hotline not long before she went missing.

Friends and family said at the time of Shields’ disappearance they had noticed something different about her in recent days.   Her sister was so concerned that she flew to New York to see Shields. But by the time she arrived Shields had gone missing.

Her father added that she didn’t have any enemies and didn’t have a boyfriend.  No foul play is suspected.
