SNL rails on Trump and gun control, ignores Weinstein’s sex abuse of women

Written by DML
Disgraced Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein is enjoying the protection from the biased media that continues to ignore his sexual harassment of women.

In case you haven’t heard, The New York Times published a bombshell report earlier this week highlighting Weinstein’s abuse of women that lasted decades.

According to the report, Weinstein has abused women who worked at his production companies, and actresses he considered hiring for movies. Ashley Judd is one of the actresses; Judd claims Weinstein asked her to watch him shower naked.

Despite Weinstein making a public statement admitting to his abusive behavior, the Times report about Weinstein was skipped over by the late night TV shows. Instead, they continued to slam President Trump.

The latest show to skip over Weinstein’s behavior is Saturday Night Live. Not only did the liberal leaning comedy show fail to mention Weinstein during its program, but it went out of its way to rail on Trump and make dramatic pleas for gun control.

Social media users voiced frustration over the hypocrisy of SNL for crashing down on Trump, but not going after Weinstein.

Pastor Darrell Scott tweeted this question: ‘Why didn’t big mouth Michael Che’ say anything about Harvey Weinstein on SNL “Weekend Update”? He’s got so much opinion about everything else.’

Instead of blasting one of their own (Weinstein), SNL actors highlighted the Las Vegas massacre. During the segment called, Weekend Update, the SNL’s Colin Jost said the following: “The investigation into the tragedy in Las Vegas this week has sparked a larger debate in America between people who want common sense gun control, and people who are wrong.” Jost continued, “This shouldn’t be a partisan issue, the guy had 47 guns. No one should own 47 of anything. If you own 47 cats, you are not a responsible pet owner, you’re a crazy cat lady. And unlike with guns, the government will actually come and take your cats away, because everyone agrees that’s insane.”

Jost highlighted how mass-killer Stephen Paddock “bought 33 of his guns in the past year.” He questioned, “And that didn’t set off any kind of alert? If I buy $100 worth of Chick-Fil-A, I get a text message from my bank that says, ‘Did you just purchase $100 worth of Chick-Fil-A? Please, Colin, tell us this is fraud.”

“Why is it so hard to get gun control in this country?” asked co-anchor Michael Che. “I mean, who are these delicate snowflakes that we can’t just tell, ‘No, you are not allowed to have 40 guns anymore, Earl. From now on, you can have one gun, max, and six bullets. If you can’t hit what you’re shooting with six bullets, then you don’t need to be shooting at it. Learn karate, or use your words.’
