In another terrible example of “comedy” on SNL, Michael Che plays NBC News anchor Lester Holt interviewing Donald Trump, who is once again played by Alec Baldwin.

The cold opening has Baldwin’s exaggerated “Trump” calling Che’s “Holt” the wrong name throughout the interview, instead using various racial nicknames or various famous black people.

As the “interview” begins, Holt asks Trump about the firing of FBI Director James Comey. When Trump acknowledges that he fired Comey over the Russian investigation, Holt asks, “Did we get him? Is this over?” Holt than realizes “nothing matters” and Trump can say and do anything he wants because Trump has the Republicans in the palm of his hand.

The skit throws insults at Republican Senator Paul Ryan (Wis.) and  Kelly Ann Conway, as well as includes a crude joke about the president and his wife,  Melania Trump.

Holt ends the skit by asking Trump if he can think about “optics,”  because covering his presidency is crazy and the press “can’t keep up” with Trump’s White House. Trump answers that Holder can expect another 8 years of this “show.”

With material like this from SNL, one wonders if they’ll be around in 8 years to cover it.
