Officials in France boosted security ahead of the Euro 2016 soccer tournament, one of the sport’s biggest events all year. Although the fear of another terror attach has the city on edge, it’s the fights among soccer fans that is turning the city into a free-for-all.
Trouble flared overnight for the second night in a row in the southern French city of Marseille. At an Irish bar, young French soccer fans reportedly sparked a fight with visitors from England overnight, forcing police to unleash tear gas. Police detained two people and said four officers were hurt.
