Social media reveals alarming details on GOP lawmaker’s shooter

Facebook has already yanked down the personal Facebook page of the shooter at the GOP congressional baseball practice Wednesday, but not before some alarming details were discovered about his anti-Republican activist involvement.

James Hodgkinson, an Illinois man, came to a baseball field early Wednesday morning where GOP lawmakers were practicing for an upcoming charity game, and specifically asked if Republicans or Democrats were practicing there today. Minutes later, he opened fire.

Social media posts revealed Hodgkinson was a volunteer on Bernie Sanders’s 2016 presidential campaign, and he had posted anti-Trump material on his Facebook page.

Columnist Phil Kerpen posted a screenshot of a post by Hodgkinson, confirming he was a participant in the climate march in Washington, D.C.

In one disturbing post on Hodgkinson’s Facebook page, he appears to be directly targeting Steve Scalise, who he shot:

Additional screenshots of Hodgkinson’s Facebook activity was also shared on Kerpen’s Twitter page:

Hodgkinson was a member of a Facebook group called “Terminate the Republican Party.”
