Spicer explains Trump’s “covfefe” tweet

President Trump’s mysterious tweet about the word “covfefe” is still… a mystery, and White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer’s explanation Wednesday only deepened the curiosity.

Just after midnight Tuesday night, President Trump sent out a tweet that has the media scratching their heads. He wrote, “Despite the constant negative press covfefe.”

Later that was deleted and he posted a new tweet that read, “Who can figure out the true meaning of ‘covfefe’ ??? Enjoy!”

At a press briefing Wednesday, a reporter asked Spicer, “Do you think people should be concerned that the president posted somewhat of an incoherent tweet last night, and that it then stayed up for hours?”

“Uh, no,” Spicer responded.

“Why did it stay up so long… is no one watching this?” he prodded.

“The president and a small group of people know exactly what he meant,” Spicer replied, as the room erupted in laughter.
