A TV Sportscaster for ABC News in Chicago was suspended after comparing President Donald Trump to a “cartoon lunatic” on Twitter. In his post, Mark Giangreco also stated the election was not fair.

“Sports anchor Mark Giangreco’s Twitter comments are not in line with ABC 7 Chicago’s non-partisan editorial standards,” ABC-7’s management said in a statement. “We’ve reviewed the matter and are taking the appropriate action.”

According to the Chicago Tribune, Giangreco’s suspension will last a few weeks and will be unpaid.

His initial post was in response to Toronto Star sports columnist Bruce Arthur, who tweeted, “Donald Trump: a hateful ignorant corrupt simpleton supported by 87 (percent) of Republicans.”

Giangreco deleted the post against Trump from his Twitter page, but the Morning Answer shared a screenshot of it:

Giangreco responded on Twitter saying, “@brucearthur, so obvious, so disturbing. America exposed as a country full of simpletons who allowed this cartoon lunatic to be ‘elected.'”
