The Staggering Costs of Air Force One

Air Force One is described as a “flying Oval Office,” with access to classified intelligence, a government computer network, and the ability to order nuclear strikes directly from the plane.

Fox News conducted a joint interview Tuesday with analyst and Retired Lt. Gen. Tom McInerney and Charles Payne, host of Making Money with Charles Payne.

The men gave both a military and business viewpoint on why Air Force One has cost the American taxpayer such a great amount for so long, something Donald Trump is ready to end.

Fox News’ Charles Payne:

“I think this speaks towards Trump’s stewardship of the taxpayers’ money. Look, we’ve got $20 trillion in national debt and a lot of that is because of wasteful spending. Who knows how much it costs to build these things. But, the bottom line is, I think there are two things Donald Trump is saying to corporate America with this message. There are going to be two things he draws the line on, sending jobs abroad and taking advantage of the American taxpayer. Building bridges to nowhere is not going to happen in D.C., any longer.”
