While issues of national concern dominate most of the daily news and commentary, much of the politics that affect Americans’ everyday lives is taking place in state legislatures across the country.
Democratic governor Jerry Brown of California recently approved a $52 billion tax increase which includes a 12-cent-per-gallon hike in the state’s gas tax.
Such a tax might not be of national significance, but Brown has signaled his interest in running for president in 2020, with intentions to bring his tax policies to Washington.
In the following video from “The Truth with Dennis Michael Lynch,” Harlan Hill describes the two Americas created by state tax policies, pleading for state governments to “make it easier to just live, … cut the taxes.”
Dennis Michael Lynch weighs in, stating that if “you look around the country, the places that do the worst are led by Democrats.”
