According to a new survey released Monday by Axios, members of the Democratic party are almost half as hopeful about the new year than Republican voters.
The survey asked, “Are you more hopeful about 2018 for your personally?”
Among Republicans, 90 percent said they feel more hopeful for 2018, and only 9 percent said they are more fearful.
However, only 55 percent of Democrats said they are more hopeful, and 44 percent said they are more fearful about 2018.
The survey also asked, “Are you more hopeful about 2018 for the world in general?”
Again, Republicans were the optimistic party, with 67 percent feeling more hopeful, and 32 percent feeling fearful about 2018 for the world in general.
Among Democrats, only 29 percent are hopeful, and 70 percent are fearful about 2018 for the world in general.
