Secret Service sent out a Twitter announcement Tuesday morning, stating that a suspicious package has been found near the White House grounds, prompting road closures around the complex.

The announcement said members of the public and media are being moved “to a safe distance” while the package is being investigated.

The incident comes after a series of fence jumpers have breached the security fence around the White House grounds in recent weeks.
