25-year-old Erin McAuliffe was arrested Thursday on three counts of sexual activity with a student and one count of indecent liberties with a minor.
McAuliffe, a math teacher at Rocky Mount Prep School, had been under investigation since May 5, after officials at the school fired McAuliffe and reported suspicion of misconduct to police.
Detectives with the Rocky Mount Police Department conducted interviews with students this week at the prep school, which houses 1,300 students K-12, before concluding they had enough evidence to arrest McAuliffe Thursday.
McAuliffe is alleged to have sexual relations off campus with two 17-year-old boys and a 16-year-old boy.
McAuliffe was ordered held in the Carteret County Jail on $20,000 bond pending her first court appearance scheduled for June 12.
