Teen arrested for threatening to kill teacher on social media (video)

FLORIDA — A high school student has been accused of threatening to kill her former teacher on social media, according to authorities.

Desiree Zio was taken into custody Sunday after saying she was going to hunt down the River Ridge High School teacher and stab her with a knife, local station WFLA reported.

Lt. Troy Ferguson reports, “She was angry at her former teacher and claimed there was some bullying last school year that wasn’t addressed to her satisfaction and she acted out emotionally and made the threat.”

Allegedly, the teacher came across the post on Facebook and was then sent the same message directly from Zio.

The 18-year-old, now a senior at a different school, was charged with written threats to kill or do bodily harm and is being held on a $10,000 bond.
