The Polls are Tighter Than Ever – Who Has the Lead?

Each day the election pulls closer and closer to November, and the polls are starting to reflect a tighter race than expected. With Hillary Clinton out sick and Donald Trump gaining momentum in numerous states, the presidential race is getting down to the wire and is tighter than ever. So who has the advantage?

In a four-way matchup on the ballot, between Clinton, Trump and third party candidates Gary Johnson and Jill Stein, Clinton holds the lead by 1 percentage point, putting her at 41% and Trump at 40%. This puts Gary Johnson at 8 percent and Green Party candidate Jill Stein at 3 percent.

Interestingly though, in a two-way matchup between just Clinton and Trump, the Republican candidate holds the lead by 1 percentage point as well. Trump holds 46%, while Clinton is placed at 45%.

Of course, these poll numbers are too close to make any definitive calls. If anything, it shows the two candidates are tugged into a tie at the moment. The poll was conducted from Sunday to Wednesday evening, and was directed towards “likely voters.” Likely voters are registered voters who maintain a high probability of casting a presidential ballot this year.
