Police escorting Trump’s motorcade were forced to race through a barricade in order to get him out of the area.
At presumptive Republican Presidential Nominee Donald Trump’s campaign rally in Fresno Friday, protesters caused very few problems for police, KFBK News reported, but what they did was more of a threat to Trump himself.
After the rally, the 200 to 300 protesters marched around to the back of the arena and tried to block the driveway where Mr. Trump’s motorcade was pulling out. Fresno police officers had to move them out of the way, but some still managed to throw objects at the vehicle Trump was riding in.
Video by ABC News shows Trump’s motorcade leaving Selland Arena, as protesters try to block the exit, and throw objects at the vehicle he was riding in.
Police had to blast through a barricade to get the motorcade out of the area quickly.
Protesters did confront some Trump supporters:
James Rummell was trying to walk from the rally to his car when he was surrounded by some of the protesters, who threw trash and took his hat. “They kicked me, they hit me,” Rummell says, “These are the kind of people…I’m not a Donald Trump really-super-supporter, but this is why I’m going to vote for Donald Trump, because of these idiots.”
