A Saturday night “protest” by the #RESIST movement came in the form of messages projected onto the facade of the Trump International Hotel in Washington, D.C., temporarily labeling the property a “shithole.”

In response to President Donald Trump’s alleged comments during a Thursday immigration meeting in the Oval Office during which he asked, “Why are we having all these people from shithole countries come here? Why do we need more Haitians?” Trump was also purportedly referring to African in his remark, according to sources.

The projected presentation that defaced Trump’s hotel Saturday night asked passersby, “Not a D.C. resident? Need a place to stay? Try our shithole. This place is a shithole.”

The word “shithole” was then projected onto the building, along with smiley-face pile-of-poop emojis, The Wrap reported.

Several messages followed, including “Pay Trump Bribes Here” with a huge arrow pointing toward the entrance, “We are all responsible to stand up and end white supremacy” and “The President of the United States is a known racist and a Nazi sympathizer.”

Another segment of the display read, “This is not normal,” and encouraged those who agreed with the statements to “stay vigilant” and “#resist.”

Artist Robin Bell, founder of the video projection company Bell Visuals, created the display.

Bell has previously made news for projecting various messages on buildings in D.C. In May, Bell projected a display onto Trump’s hotel which read, “emoluments welcome” and “pay Trump bribes here.” Both claims appear in Bell’s Saturday night display. Also in May, Bell projected “#SessionsMustGo” and “I thought the KKK was OK until I learned that they smoked pot” on the Department of Justice building, in reference to a quote by Attorney General Jeff Sessions.
