President-elect Donald Trump has said he wants to cut the federal budget by $10.5 trillion over the next decade.
It looks like the National Endowment for the Arts, the National Endowment for the Humanities and the Corporation for Public Broadcasting will be a part of that budget cut, according to the Daily Caller.
The Corporation for Public Broadcasting, is responsible for running PBS, a media and news outlet, which is part of the problem.
“A free society should not have government-supported media outlets, especially ones that so often convey political news and opinion,” said the Republican Study Committee, a group that has also supported defunding these specific groups.
As for the other two organizations, the RSC has said, “The federal government should not be in the business of funding the arts.”
According to the Daily Caller, the three departments combined cost $741 million in 2016.
