Baltimore police are asking for help from the public to track down a man who robbed and murdered an elderly man in broad daylight.
Surveillance cameras caught the attack near a busy intersection in southeast Baltimore around 4pm Friday, at Pulaski Highway and Highland Avenue.
Camera footage shows the 73-year-old victim walking with a cane along the sidewalk and being approached by a man in a hoodie. As the elderly man turns to walk down the sidewalk, the thug follows him, then throws him to the ground, pulls out a knife and starts stabbing him repeatedly.
The victim tried to fight back with his cane, but was no match for the man with the knife. He was later taken to a local hospital where he died from the attack.
Detective Donny Moses with the Baltimore City Police told CBS News, “It takes a real coward to one rob and then stab, a 73-year-old to the point where he dies.”
“Some of the cars even slowed down while this was going on, and we need those people to come forward,” he said.
