Tom Hanks: I Want Trump to do Well

Liberal Hollywood actor Tom Hanks is breaking from the elite crowd to offer sincere commentary regarding President-Elect Donald Trump. While most liberal elites are bashing and trashing Trump, Hanks is offering a more tempered tone. On Wednesday, New York’s Museum of Modern Art honored the Academy Award winning actor for his decade spanning work. In his acceptance speech, Hanks mentions Trump winning the election:

“We are going to be all right because we constantly get to tell the world who we are. We constantly get to define ourselves as American. We do have the greatest country in the world. We move at a slow pace. We have the greatest country in the world because we are always moving towards a more perfect union. That journey never ceases, it never stops.

Sometimes, to quote a Springsteen song, it’s ‘one step forward, two steps back,’ but we still aggregately move forward. We, who are a week into wondering what the hell just happened, will continue to move forward. We have to choose to do so, but we will move forward because if we do not move forward, what is to be said of us?”

However, Hanks soon changes his tone to a more optimistic rhetoric. In fact, Hanks actually breaks away from the sheep-minded elite and says he wants Trump to do so well that he re-elects him four years from now:

“This is the United States of America. We’ll go on. There’s great like-minded people out there who are Americans first and Republicans or Democrats second… I hope the president-elect does such a great job that I vote for his re-election in four years.”

This comes as a surprise, considering Hanks was a staunch Hillary Clinton fan. However, regardless of Hanks’ affiliation, it’s enlightening to see that Hanks will look forward despite not getting his way in the election, whereas other elites like pop star Miley Cyrus are taking to social media to publicly cry and whine.
