Tomi Lahren makes ObamaCare revelation during debate with Chelsea Handler

Conservative pundit Tomi Lahren was blasting Obamacare during a debate with liberal comedian Chelsea Handler when she admitted that she is still taking advantage of the fact that Obamacare allows her to stay on her parents’ healthcare insurance, despite the fact that she is a a full-grown adult who holds a full-time job.

Appearing with Handler at Politicon on Saturday, Lahren was booed by the audience when she stated, “Luckily, I am 24, so I am still on my parents’ plan,” during the debate.

Handler jumped in to defend Lahren, telling her detractors, “Stop, she is being honest.”

Lahren also described the Affordable Health Care Act as being in a “death spiral.”

The individual mandate to buy insurance is probably the most disputed part of Obama’s signature healthcare law, with coverage of abortion and birth control services for all and the coverage of “pre-existing conditions” closely following as other major areas of contention.

But when it comes to providing health insurance coverage to young adults, most people are on-board; although critics say that extending their parents’ health insurance well into their twenties fosters a “dependent” mentality.

An early proponent of this notion was the American Medical Association, which made covering young adults on their parents’ health insurance plans part of its policy back in 1995. And when Trump announced in his election campaign that he would keep that provision in the GOP’s healthcare bill, the AMA approved.

In the organization’s  2016 “vision for health reform,” they stated, “Our AMA encourages the health insurance industry, employers and health plans to make available to young adults who do not have health insurance extended family health expense coverage to age 28.”

Lahren joined the pro-Trump advocacy group Great America Alliance in May after she was forced out of Glenn Beck’s “The Blaze” for comments she made in favor of abortion access.
